Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Engineer Survivability - Low Observable to join a team supporting aeronautics systems at Whiteman AFB, MO. The role provides on-site LO expertise and liaises with government authorities at Tinker AFB, OK, with deployment exposure up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS.

You will work on LO data analysis, maintenance support, and cross-disciplinary engineering tasks to sustain aircraft survivability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science with 5 years of LO experience or Master’s with 3 years.
• Demonstrated LO materials, processes, evaluation and inspection experience.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic performance and signature management.
• Experience with post-operation inspections and LO survivability assessments.
• Experience interfacing with military customers on survivability topics.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret SCI clearance and ability to obtain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
• Identify issues and recommend solutions for repair dispositions and data updates.
• Document maintenance activities and identify failure trends.
• Provide LO and structures system maintenance guidance to the team.
• Apply RF diagnostic and verification techniques for LO aircraft.
• Support technical and logistics activities and report to customers.
• Assist in resolving complex maintenance discrepancies with experts.
• Operate aircraft ground support equipment and tools.
• Develop expertise across multiple engineering disciplines for customer support.
• Ensure compliance with policies, tool control, and safety standards.
