Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, VT is seeking a Principal Integration Engineer to own and drive technology module performance in 200mm manufacturing. You will lead improvement experiments, monitor Cp/Cpk, and collaborate with device and process teams to advance new production technologies.

This on-site role emphasizes data analysis, defect reduction, and cost-efficient manufacturing, with a daytime Monday–Friday schedule and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering plus minimum 4-5 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related field or related discipline OR MS + 2-4 years relevant experience OR PhD + 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Fluency in English language - both written and verbal
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment and/or cleanroom suit as needed
  • Demonstrated structured problem-solving skills and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, as well as internal and external partners

  • Complete ownership of a technology module, accountable for prioritization of projects based on business need, delegation of tasks to extended module team, lead for definition of improvement experiments and hardware disposition
  • Sustain and improve manufacturing technologies by ensuring product quality, reducing defectivity, improving process stability (Cp/Cpk), and increasing processing efficiency
  • Detect line issues through data analysis and driving appropriate containment and resolution in a timely manner to limit the impact to yield and delivery
  • Collaborate with device, process module teams in driving development work for new production technologies
  • Drive cost reductions through expense elimination, line and test yield improvement, and efficiency improvements
  • Possess a working knowledge of active and passive devices along with an intimate knowledge of manufacturing methods is required

Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking a Principal Integration Engineer to support our 200mm semiconductor manufacturing and development facility in Essex Junction VT. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate demonstrates a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered. This role will be fully on site, working on a Monday - Friday daytime schedule, with some minor weekend coverage as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering plus minimum 4-5 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related field or related discipline OR MS + 2-4 years relevant experience OR PhD + 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Fluency in English language - both written and verbal
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment and/or cleanroom suit as needed
  • Demonstrated structured problem-solving skills and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, as well as internal and external partners
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a semiconductor company
  • Knowledge of coding languages R or PythonLab or pre-professional experience in semiconductor processing
  • Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
Expected Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $146,000.00
