Google seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the Hybrid Cloud Environment (HCE) as the Unified Tech Lead, owning the technical direction and multi-year roadmap for a secure, scalable cloud platform. You will drive design for an automated cloud infrastructure plane across Google, enabling both engineers and autonomous agents to stand up enterprise-grade environments in seconds.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent.
15 years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating large-scale, distributed cloud infrastructure.
Experience in technical leadership leading senior teams and defining multi-year architectural strategies.

Responsibilities

Define compiler translating natural-language intent and decorators into secure cloud environments.
Lead the design of the control plane with zero-trust identity and short-lived credentials.
Mentor staff engineers to foster an AI-fluent culture of rapid, safe iteration.
Represent engineering standards across Core and Product Areas to enable safe GCP adoption.
