Ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, medium to low voltage power distribution, and other critical infrastructure, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support facility operations.Responsibilities include:Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, repairs, and planning of the facilities mechanical infrastructure to ensure maximum safety and building uptimeIdentify and implement preventative and predictive maintenance plans of the facilities infrastructure, equipment and buildings to achieve lowest cost of ownership while maintaining reliabilityDevelop strategic replacement plans for outdated equipment to address excessive maintenance, energy efficiency and establish consistency of equipment utilized across the sitePerform problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisPrepare training documents and operational SOPs pertaining to facility and processes and equipmentPartner with Facility Maintenance groups to develop process improvements to gain efficiencies in terms of equipment uptime and reliabilityDevelop, gather, and analyze data and develop reports, presentations, and recommendations for facilities system improvementConduct engineering assessments, develop plans, and provide guidance on the selection and implementation of equipment and systems for facility and utility improvementsInteract and manage facility projects to ensure proper operations and maintenance of mechanical, fire life safety, exhaust, and applicable controls systemsEvaluate existing and new technologies to reduce operating costs and improve reliabilityPrepare Scopes of Work (SOWs) and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction servicesGenerate cost estimates for projects, equipment replacement, and/or other systems improvementsCoordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawingsCheck design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standardsReview designs and challenge assumptionsIdentify and conceptually scope compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projectsProvide Dynamic Collaboration - Engage as a technical expert with a diverse set of teams from manufacturing to construction to operations to executive level stakeholdersBasic qualifications for the Principal Facilities Engineer:Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 or more years of related facilities experience or 3 or more years with MS Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or 9 or more years of facilities, electrician or maintenance experience in lieu of degreeExperience with Interpreting building and utility drawings and making the revisions as requiredExperience with AutoCADExperience collaborating effectively with all levels of the organization, demonstrating strong problem‑solving abilities and interpersonal skills.Experience updating As-Built drawings by performing site visits and field measurements as needed. U.S. CitizenshipPhysical Qualifications for the Principal Facilities Engineer:May require walking long distances, climbing stairs, visiting non-air-conditioned spaces, and/or standing for long periods of timeAbility to advocate a safe, secure and ethical working environment that maintains compliance with federal, state and local government regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO, DOT, permits, etc.) in addition to company policiesPreferred Qualifications for the Principal Facilities Engineer:7 years of experience in facility engineering with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.Experience with management of design contracts and/or design reviewsExperience in developing project statements of work and coordinating with multiple stakeholdersDemonstrated knowledge of California Code and Regulatory requirementsExperience using a CMMS, i.e., Maintenance ConnectionExperience using BIM Software - RevitExperience in Project Management & general Construction processesExperience supporting a large Manufacturing FacilityExperience developing and updating Preventive and Predictive maintenance initiatives#MPRPrimary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
