Baxter invites a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead design, deployment, and support of cloud and platform solutions that enable product development teams.

You will automate with IaC (Terraform), manage Kubernetes, monitor with Grafana/Prometheus/Azure Monitor, and drive reliability and security across global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure or DevOps solutions.

Your Role at Baxter

As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, deployment, and support of cloud and platform engineering solutions that enable product development teams. You will partner across engineering functions to build scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure while helping drive operational excellence through automation, observability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure solutions that enable the development and operation of Baxter products and applications.
• Manage infrastructure, platform, and deployment processes for product teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Implement and support observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure Monitor.
• Utilize tools, metrics, and best practices to monitor infrastructure, application, and process performance and drive proactive issue resolution.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and engineering productivity.
• Collaborate across engineering teams, provide technical guidance, and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud, platform engineering, or DevOps solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture, deployment, monitoring, security, and operational support.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies for scalable and repeatable infrastructure management.
• Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications in production environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, including networking, compute, storage, security, resiliency, and scalability principles.
• Experience implementing and supporting observability and monitoring solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, or similar platforms.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, automate processes, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000-$165,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
