This opening is for the ART Advance Methods and System group at Collins Aerospace for a Principal Engineer position. Requires a total of 8-17 years’ experience in System modeling, Controls, and Optimization.

Experience We Prefer:

• Hands-on experience in System modeling, Controls, and Optimization development, including implementing solutions into actual products
• Experience with various optimization techniques applied in real projects
• Subject Matter Expert in Model-Based Design and Development using MATLAB/Simulink and scripting with MATLAB
• Experience in Controls modeling and auto-code generation using MATLAB/Simulink
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools & methodology is a plus
• Critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in research, development, solution architecture, and team management for over 6 years
• Minimum 2-3 publications related to System modeling, Controls, and Optimization
• Familiarity with multiple optimization tools and languages related to modeling and optimization

Qualifications You Must Have:

• B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Controls, or Optimization
• Expertise in controls modeling, simulation, optimization, and analysis
• Experience in model validation
• Experience working with ARP 4754, DO-178C, and DO-331 standards

What YOU will do:

• Collaborate with global stakeholders and project leads on Controls Modeling and Simulation using MATLAB & Simulink
• Prepare technical and business proposals for advanced methods development
• Participate in internal Communities of Practice (CoP) and external professional bodies
• Execute projects ensuring results are delivered within scope, time, and quality standards
• Support the creation of Standard Works, Lessons Learned documents, and Checklists
