Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Architecture Engineer in the United States (Arizona) to define architecture concepts for silicon and system products based on customer needs. You will work closely with product marketing and customers to shape requirements and create architecture specifications with silicon and software architects.

You will design functional safety and cybersecurity concepts, coordinate global teams, and deliver training and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong written communication skills for engineering docs.
• Experience in silicon or system architecture, apps eng, or systems eng.
• Experience in at least two: Digital IC design, mixed-signal/analog IC design, hardware design, firmware/software development.
• Preferred: embedded systems spec development, debugging from PHY to app layers, driver/software package installation, lab equipment hands-on, technical training delivery, customer-facing experience, PCB CAD familiarity, quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop reference designs and promote companion silicon solutions with other units.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with semiconductor vendors.
• Support pre‑production customer engagements and collaborative development.
• Develop and deliver technical training for customers, sales teams, and field engineers.
• Create technical documentation such as datasheets, safety manuals, and reference designs.

• Develop architecture specifications in cooperation with silicon and software architects.
• Design functional safety and cybersecurity concepts for new products and perform related analyses with subject matter experts.
• Coordinate global cross‑functional teams throughout the full product development lifecycle.
• Define approved vendor lists for companion chipsets used in product validation.
• Develop reference designs and promote new companion silicon solutions in collaboration with other business units.
• Establish and maintain technical partnerships with other semiconductor vendors.
• Support pre‑production customer engagements and collaborative technical development activities.
• Develop and deliver technical training (webinars, workshops) for customers, sales teams, and field application engineers.
• Create technical documentation such as application notes, datasheets, safety manuals, and reference designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high‑quality engineering documentation.
• Experience in silicon or system architecture, applications engineering, or systems engineering roles.
• Experience in at least two of the following areas: Digital IC design, Mixed‑signal and analog IC design, Hardware design, Firmware/software development.
• Preferred Experience: Specification and requirements development for embedded systems, Debugging across physical to application layers for interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, PCI Express, etc., Embedded programming experience (e.g., C/C++, Rust), Installation and debugging of drivers and software packages, Scripting and prototyping experience, Hands‑on experience with lab equipment, Experience developing and delivering technical training, Direct customer‑facing experience, Knowledge of functional safety standards, Experience with PCB CAD tools, Familiarity with quality management processes.
