Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer for a remote, contract-to-hire role. The position focuses on shaping the onboarding platform, driving architectural decisions, and embedding AI capabilities while coding daily.

You will interact with Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver scalable SaaS solutions. Requires 8+ years of experience, leadership in technical roles, and strong cloud-native design.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience on production SaaS platforms.
• Leadership roles such as Staff/Principal/Lead Engineer or similar.
• Strong cloud-native architectural design experience.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and with stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with Product and business teams to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural direction across the platform.
• Lead technical decisions impacting scalability, reliability, security, and innovation.
• Guide platform evolution balancing speed and maintainability.
• Write production code daily and contribute to feature development.
• Architect solutions for complex customer and platform initiatives.
• Define and implement AI strategy and AI-powered capabilities.
• Develop proofs of concept for customer-facing AI use cases.
• Engage with customers to understand onboarding challenges and show demonstrations.
