Pulsar Informatics, Inc. is seeking a senior platform engineer to design and evolve scalable backend systems for high-volume time-series data and ML workflows.
You will own architecture for data ingestion, processing, storage, analytics, and third-party algorithm integration, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, product leaders, and customers to deliver durable platform capabilities.
Pulsar Informatics builds software that helps organizations understand and manage human performance in environments where alertness, safety, and sound decision-making matter. Our platform brings together wearable, operational, and contextual data to deliver timely analytics for aviation, transportation, defense, healthcare, and other demanding settings.
As our platform grows in scale and capability, we are investing in data foundations that accelerate innovation and support continued growth: resilient ingestion, streaming and batch processing, scalable time-series storage, data quality, observability, and flexible integration of analytical models developed by Pulsar and third parties.
About the role
We are looking for a senior engineer who is motivated to build scalable platforms and solve hard backend, data, and integration problems. This is not a traditional reporting or ETL-focused role: you will design and evolve the systems that move data from ingestion and normalization through storage, enrichment, analytics, APIs, and machine-learning workflows. A major focus will be creating secure, reliable platform capabilities for third-party algorithms, including execution environments, APIs, SDKs, documentation, testing tools, deployment patterns, and operational controls that help external developers integrate their algorithms into Pulsar products.
You will partner with software engineers, data scientists, product leaders, and customers to create reusable platform capabilities that support both today’s product needs and tomorrow’s scale. The role carries meaningful architectural ownership: you will make pragmatic technical decisions, and know when to invest in a durable foundation versus validate an idea quickly.
