Snap-on Business Solutions in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Principal Embedded Systems Architect to lead the design and development of vehicle communication interfaces, diagnostic platforms, and connected solutions for the commercial vehicle industry. This hands-on role spans the full product lifecycle from system architecture to production and field support.

The ideal candidate will be a systems-level engineer with deep experience in ARM-based firmware, PC device drivers, and secure software

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, CS.
10+ years of embedded product development.
Strong hardware integration and debugging skills.
Experience with ARM-based firmware and CAN/SAE networks.

Responsabilités

Lead architecture, design, and development of embedded vehicle interfaces.
Develop firmware for ARM MCUs in C/C++.
Drive hardware bring-up, tests, and production readiness.
Develop or support Windows device drivers and APIs.
Implement wired/wireless comms: USB, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth.
Design secure product architectures with secure boot and hardware root of trust.
Collaborate with OEMs and partners on diagnostics standards.
