Principal Embedded Software Engineer with Active Secret Clearance
An aerospace client is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer with Active Secret Clearance to support our SiAW program. The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn new technologies and join our innovative teams to develop, enhance, and maintain software on cutting-edge products and systems.

Position: Principal Embedded Software Engineer with Active Secret Clearance
Pay Rate: $42/hr – $53.42/hr (DOE)
Duration: 6 months or longer
Schedule: 9×80 A
Shift: 1st Shift
Travel: Yes, approximately 10%
Responsibilities
- Develop and support software engineering products for the team.
- Perform analysis and provide technical support for systems software, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
- Maintain, debug, and configure related software products.
- Work from specifications to develop or modify embedded applications.
- Assist with design, coding, benchmarking, debugging, and documentation.
- Collaborate with SEIT organization to decompose system requirements into software requirements.
- Contribute to system concepts, CONOPS, and sequences.
- Develop and update system external interfaces.
- Author or assist with proposals.
- Perform software design and create related documentation.
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required.
- Current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Science; 3+ years with a Master's; 1+ year with a PhD.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Proficiency in C and Object-Oriented programming.
- Experience with the full software lifecycle, from requirements to testing.
- Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time, multi-threaded embedded applications.
- Experience with RTOS designs and secure embedded software development.
- Knowledge of ARM architectures and peripherals.
- Experience using Jira, Bitbucket, Git, and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with missile defense systems, including launch, targeting, and fire control.
- Knowledge of testing strategies in hardware and software.
- Hands-on experience with system/missile testing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, FPGA, PowerPC architectures.
