Job summary
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Annapolis, MD, seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and test software for cutting-edge undersea payloads. The role emphasizes C++, Python, embedded RT systems and agile teamwork on Linux/Windows.
Candidates must have a STEM degree and 5+ years of embedded software experience (8+ for Senior Principal), TS/SCI with poly, and hands-on leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM field with 5+ years software development experience on embedded real-time systems or 3+ years with a master’s degree, 0 years with a PhD
- Experience in developing in C++ and Python
- Experience in embedded software development
- Experience developing in a Linux and/or Windows environment
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead
- Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain poly
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate and test software for embedded, undersea payloads
- Work on an agile development team using C++, Linux and/or Python
- Participate in cross-functional scrum reviews, design reviews and peer reviews
- Prioritize tasks and provide recommendations to Technical Leads
