Job summary

Stanley Consultants, a global engineering firm, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer in Austin (hybrid or remote). Lead power generation, plant facilities design, and microgrid projects with PE credentials and 10+ years’ experience.

You’ll design high- and low-voltage systems, coordinate with vendors, and manage budgets and schedules while delivering rigorous engineering analyses and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is required.
• 10+ years of relevant electrical design experience.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, or similar electrical modeling software.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project and industry needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of power plant site, microgrids and power distribution with medium and low voltage systems, switchgear and MCCs; modeling of electrical systems.
• Design of schematic and wiring diagrams; prepare equipment and system specifications.
• Prepare reports; determine code requirements; perform design computations and reviews.
• Coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas as necessary.
• Manage a design budget and schedule.
• Proficiently develop engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform and check engineering calculations.
• Size, select, and specify electrical equipment and coordinate information with vendors.
• Perform project field site visits.
