Overview
Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer III to perform engineering analysis, design, testing, and integration across a portfolio of launch vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis, design, and/or testing of complex electrical systems.
- Review internal, external, industry, and customer requirements to support system and subsystem designs.
- Analyze and verify designs, and present results to management and customers.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute test programs for design evaluation.
- Lead troubleshooting and failure investigations.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct senior peer reviews.
- Collaborate with IPTs, engineering disciplines, and operations/manufacturing groups.
- Prepare and present electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.
- Conduct qualification acceptance testing, characterization testing, and test data review.
- Analyze data to identify performance trends and off‑nominal behavior.
- Contribute to team decisions, provide customer service, and maintain safety.
- Participate in trade studies, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
- Provide formal peer review of engineering designs or analyses.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience, or comparable experience (or a master’s degree) with 3 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Current DoD Secret Security clearance or higher required; ability to maintain clearance.
- Experience with missile systems or related standards preferred.
- Experience in design, test, integration, and deployment of electrical components or subsystems.
- Proficiency in engineering documentation, technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
- Experience with root‑cause failure analysis of electronic systems.
- Knowledge of basic test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads).
- Experience using analytical software (MATLAB, Python) for data analysis.
