We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and support gas turbine and combined cycle power plant projects. This role involves overseeing the electrical scope from design through commissioning while ensuring safety, technical excellence, and schedule adherence. The position is remote-based with up to 20% travel to project sites.

  • EHS Leadership: Develop and enforce EHS policies and programs tailored to large-scale construction and commissioning environments.
  • Engineering Oversight: Manage the electrical scope for gas turbine installations, including design reviews, equipment selection, and on-site implementation.
  • System Integration: Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with turbines, generators, excitation systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Commissioning Support: Support commissioning tasks such as loop checks, functional testing, system energization, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Review: Evaluate and approve electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and relay settings.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with OEMs, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and field teams for successful project execution.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, test results, redlines, and as-built documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with mechanical, I&C, and civil engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting gas turbine or combined cycle power plant projects
  • Strong background in medium/high-voltage systems, excitation systems, and protective relays
  • Familiarity with turbine platforms such as LM2500s or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with tools like ETAP or SKM for electrical modeling and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project documentation platforms
  • Strong communication, leadership, and field coordination skills
  • PE license (preferred or ability to obtain)
