Position: Full-Time Staff Principal Electrical Engineer

Location: Greenville SC, Charlotte NC, or Remote

Role Overview

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical engineering efforts within EPC projects, overseeing deliverables, design criteria, specifications, and project scope, budget, and schedule. You will operate with minimal oversight, managing project execution, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and integrating electrical solutions into project workflows. Responsibilities include technical leadership, design optimization, regulatory compliance, and team mentorship, with support to the Electrical Department Manager when required.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Lead electrical engineering design activities across multiple EPC projects, ensuring compliance with standards and optimizing for efficiency.
  2. Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring quality and compliance.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical solutions into project execution, ensuring timely delivery.
  4. Supervise engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance oversight.
  5. Assist in departmental operations, resource management, and strategic planning, including staffing and scheduling.
Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of industrial and power plant electrical design practices, including medium and low voltage systems, and industry codes (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA).
  • Experience in project execution practices within the EPC lifecycle.
  • Ability to oversee large-scale electrical design projects, ensuring compliance and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, and electrical system modeling software like SKM or ETAP.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts and drive innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 12+ years of detailed engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Successful passing of background screening.
Compensation & Benefits

Wage range: $136,400 - $204,600, depending on experience and location. We offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave, and more.
