Job Summary

The Principal Elasticsearch Systems Engineer role provides support across an Agile team in a DevSecOps environment. This role will support a large enterprise Elasticsearch deployment, including design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Elastic environments both in cloud (AWS) and on-premises. Collaboration with architecture, engineering, development, and operations teams is essential to ensure production scalability, stability, and data integrity.

Job Responsibilities

1. Maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a cloud-based environment across multiple availability zones.
2. Ensure Elasticsearch clusters operate under optimal conditions.
3. Evaluate and optimize Elasticsearch clusters, including configuration, indexing, search, query performance tuning, security, and administration.
4. Maintain infrastructure to ensure performance and data integrity.
5. Keep Elasticsearch clusters upgraded in accordance with application requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Elasticsearch Administration.
• Experience maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch within an operational enterprise information system.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience deploying and using Elasticsearch on Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working on customer systems.
• Understanding of customer system development policies.
• Additional certifications related to Elasticsearch are a plus.
