Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base seeks a DevOps Engineer/Principal DevOps Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team. You will help build, maintain, and scale infrastructure using Kubernetes, container technologies, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires active DoD Top Secret clearance, a STEM degree, and several years of DevOps experience. Travel up to 10% may be required; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2+ years’ experience or Master’s with 0+ years
• 3+ years’ experience in DevOps, software development, or systems administration
• Experience with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with OCI-compliant container tech (Docker/Podman) and Kubernetes
• Experience Linux OS and core cloud services (VMs, storage, networking)

Responsibilities

• Combine software development and IT operations to streamline the development process
• Implement and manage DevOps practices across the organization
• Build, maintain, and scale foundational infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders as part of Platform Engineering
• Apply security-as-code and automation across environments
