BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Principal DevOps Engineer I team, you'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining a platform, including troubleshooting of system and data issues for both lower and production environments. You will collaborate with the software development and/or engineering teams to streamline and simplify the deployment process and you will serve as the first line of contact for highly complex production issues.

DevOps implies close collaboration across team and department boundaries. Skills across domains are combined to produce specific outcomes in the CDP. This position ensures features are developed in a way that fosters continuous delivery, knowledge from five domains (Continuous Deployment, Continuous Integration, Continuous Security, Continuous Quality, and Continuous Observability) must be applied. Solutions are developed with speed, quality, security, version control, adaptability, and maintainability in mind.

WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL DEVOPS ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Drive the building of tools for automated deployment.

  • Prepare and deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environment.

  • Implement various continuous DevOps pipelines.

  • Specialist for performance and reliability, solving design problems and developing specialized skillsets.

  • Articulate recommendations for enhancing performance via gap analysis, identifying the most practical alternative solutions and assisting with modifications.

  • Provide documentation support as necessary.

  • Maintain objectivity while adjusting to iterative changes and the evolving technology landscape.

  • Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance and reliability of the DSDE managed Infrastructure.

  • Develop and deliver DevOps solutions that enable partnership with engineering teams.

  • Drive improvements in capacity, reliability, availability, monitoring and performance of core tool stack systems.

  • Develop well-documented and flexible code in Charter standard programming languages.

  • Design and develop DevOps tool stack interfaces that are clean, with a simple and common navigation structure.

  • Work with other team members, feature development teams, and Operations to collaborate on

  • DevOps practice methodology design and development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of software engineering experience (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, and/or Python)
    • 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience
    • 4+ years of source control tool experience (GitLab, GitHub, etc.)
    • 2+ years of cloud infrastructure management and architecture
    • 2+ years of experience with Helm and other Kubernetes management tools
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive understanding of software source control tools such as GitLab.
    • Extensive understanding of container management software such as Kubernetes.
  • Skills:
    • Extensive experience with collaborating and building team consensus when interacting with both the leadership and the implementation teams
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated in-depth analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to write clear technical documentation for use by developers and testers
    • Ability to work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
    • Ability to identify issues of a highly complex nature and effectively resolve
  • Travel Ability: Office Environment
  • Schedule:
    • Full time
    • This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Ability to work in a lean agile format as part of a scrum team
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience (Go)
  • 5+ years cloud-based DevOps engineering experience
  • 2+ years of cloud infrastructure management and architecture experience

The base pay for this position generally is between $100,600.00 and $178,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
