We are actively hiring a Principal Software Engineer to join our Mission Technology Division working in Reston, VA

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide Agile DevOps support to mission-critical systems, building strong systems, software, and cloud environments, and supporting operations and maintenance for critical systems.
2. Offer technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, and testing of customer tools and applications within a DevOps framework.
3. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including scope estimation, architecture, design, coding, and testing.
4. Support software programming initiatives to foster innovation using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Angular.
5. Develop and direct software validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
6. Develop and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Platforms, leveraging infrastructure platform services.
7. Coordinate with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure alignment with user stories and customer use cases.
8. Analyze infrastructure needs driven by software development to meet mission requirements.
9. Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
10. Utilize industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting, Atlassian JIRA, and Confluence.
11. Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across environments.
12. Communicate project data effectively to team members to foster team cohesion and effectiveness.
13. Create innovative solutions to meet customer technical needs.

Basic Qualifications

1. Proficiency with Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and development practices.
2. Deep experience with Java, Angular, Spring, and C2S.
3. Experience in the software development lifecycle within DevOps toolsets.
4. Experience with software testing tools like Junit.
5. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
6. Experience working in an Agile environment.
7. Development experience in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
8. Knowledge of cloud data services like S3, RDS, EFS.
9. Excellent communication skills.
10. Experience with version control and issue tracking systems.
