Job Title: Principal Design Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL

Salary: $140k

A company specializing in highly engineered, complex, and severe environment products is hiring an experienced Principal Design Engineer to design specialized fluid control components using CAD tools, collaborating with teams to develop detailed drawings, models, BOMs, and design analyses. This role requires interaction with various departments, suppliers, and hands-on work in the test laboratory for design validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical specifications for fluid control devices.
  • Design and evaluate new and existing products for performance and manufacturability improvements.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, stress analysis, and CFD as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and check outputs from designers.
  • Investigate and resolve production design issues.
  • Generate test and assembly procedures, reports, and training materials.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure product quality and timely realization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical design (preferably valves or fluid control).
  • Proficiency in engineering software (MathCAD, SolidWorks, FEA, CFD).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ASME B16.5, B16.34, Y14.5).
  • US Citizenship required.
