Role Overview

The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for designing and building systems and services that enable Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance for its SaaS offerings. The team develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across infrastructure, database, platform, and application services, ensuring minimal disruptions and maximum uptime in a 24x7 environment. We seek a Principal Database Engineer to drive innovation in system design and enhancements at the core of our SaaS platform, focusing on achieving maximum availability and performance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage Oracle databases to ensure high availability, performance, and resiliency for SaaS services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Contribute to product strategy, define architecture, and develop features for system uptime, health, and resiliency.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience with large-scale Oracle database deployments.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Database, Exadata, RAC, ASM, and HA infrastructure.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for complex performance and availability issues.
• Experience with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture and Data Guard.
• Strong scripting skills (Java/Python, SQL/PLSQL, Shell).
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Knowledge of distributed computing and multi-region architectures.
• Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database and observability frameworks.

This role offers a competitive salary range in the US of $96,800 to $223,400 annually, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
