Position Purpose

Serve as an expert on quantitative analysis, data mining, and presentation of data. Serve as an expert on statistical and mathematical models for distinguishing relevant from irrelevant content or events.

In this Principal Data Scientist role, you will

• Research, design, implement, and evaluate machine learning algorithms and statistical models for signal processing and/or bioinformatics applications. Generate internal implementations to achieve results.
• Work closely with software engineering teams to drive scalable, production-ready implementations.
• Collaborate with teams across the company and serve as an internal expert on technical issues.
• Document technical work as part of the product development process. Support patent applications for data science models.
• Contribute to our evolving cloud infrastructure and data engineering pipeline.
• Identify technical challenges, define requirements, and prioritize efforts.
• Liaise to define requirements and architectures for next-generation machine learning / statistical analysis products.
• Contribute to scientific software engineering efforts, utilizing professional coding standards.
• Engage with business partners to develop new models and concepts for continuous improvement.

Education/Experience

• Master’s degree in Quantitative/statistical analytics required; PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience required.

Pay Range $132,000.00 - $244,100.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
