Google is seeking a Principal Data Scientist for Search to drive deep understanding of how users interact with information and to solve broad, existential problems for the future of Search. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in data science or related quantitative fields such as statistics, ML, software engineering, or ML engineering.
• Experience using data insights to drive product and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build a strong measurement framework for broadly defined problems and hill-climb by directing efforts.
• Identify and prioritize levers to add user value across surfaces and potential products.
• Establish standards for depth of understanding and accuracy for the Search Data Science org.
• Build operating pictures for cross-cutting areas and align the org around clarity and expertise.
