Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Principal Data Scientist with ML and GenAI expertise for its Auto Consumer Strategy & Analytics group. The role focuses on preparing customer data, building predictive models, and supporting servicing analytics across the consumer finance stack.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years in analytics, strong SQL/Python skills, and a PhD or Master’s in a quantitative field. Hybrid on-site work options apply with a comprehensive Total Rewards package.

Qualifications

• Experience with large account-level datasets using SQL and Python.
• Strong knowledge of statistics and exploratory data analysis (EDA).
• Experience with loan-level predictive data mining for consumer finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply quantitative techniques to build/test ML and GenAI models and risk scores.
• Prepare and analyze large, account-level consumer data for predictive analytics.
• Collaborate with Model Risk Management for validation and regulatory review.
• Support client segmentation and strategy optimization for servicing analytics.
