Principal Data Scientist - Generative AI, Machine Learning, Python, R - Remote
This role involves overseeing data science projects, leading a team, and aligning data initiatives with business goals. The candidate will develop data models, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay current with industry trends. The position emphasizes ethical data use, model governance, and model operations to meet regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop AI and machine learning methodologies, applying the latest advancements.
- Deploy, monitor, and govern AI models in production, ensuring compliance and performance.
- Lead innovative pilot projects for new AI technologies.
- Extract insights from complex datasets to inform strategic decisions.
- Design, develop, and train machine learning models using various algorithms.
- Implement agentic workflows utilizing AI agents for autonomous tasks.
- Utilize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to enhance language models.
- Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific applications.
- Prepare data through cleaning and preprocessing for modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions.
- Create documentation and report findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
- Work with business teams to improve metrics like Star ratings and reduce care gaps.
- Present analytical insights clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Identify and refer opportunities for data and technology solutions.
- Stay informed on industry trends and apply relevant tools and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data science, preferably in healthcare.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
- Proficiency in Python and R; experience with TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with agentic workflows and RAG techniques.
- Expertise in model fine-tuning, data visualization, and database management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHD or additional experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio.
- Familiarity with NLP and computer vision techniques.
This is a full-time, mid-senior level position with a pay range of $117,731 - $275,491 annually. The role is remote, with a focus on engineering and IT within the healthcare industry.
