Job summary

Headspace seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead forecasting, experimentation, and workforce optimization across care delivery and marketplace platforms. You will design analytical frameworks, build data products, and uncover insights to scale high-quality mental healthcare.

You will drive end-to-end demand/supply forecasting, measure outcomes, and partner with cross-functional leaders to translate insights into product and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of analytics and data science experience in Digital Health, high-growth SaaS, or Mental Health.
• 6+ years partnering with executive leadership and product leaders.
• Proven experience building forecasting models and optimization solutions.
• Strong expertise in statistical modeling, causal inference, and experimentation.
• 6+ years owning data products and driving business impact.
• 4+ years in healthcare analytics (preferred).
• 7+ years of experience with big data tech (Redshift, S3, Databricks, Spark).
• Advanced SQL and Python; Looker/Tableau/Amplitude/Statsig is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end demand and supply forecasting for care services.
• Develop high-accuracy forecasting models for product launches and partnerships.
• Translate drivers of demand variability into actionable levers for capacity planning.
• Build forecasting and shift optimization systems with multi-modal data sources.
• Enable marketplace leaders with data-driven insights to optimize access and fulfillment.
• Define and track key marketplace metrics like time-to-appointment and network health.
• Define clinical and coaching outcome metrics and ensure reliable reporting.
• Lead end-to-end measurement frameworks for care journeys and data quality.
