The Principal Data Scientist for the EPIC Solutions team is accountable for the design, development, and evaluation of predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction in order to analyze, review, forecast and present information for operational improvement and Optum-wide Stars improvement planning. This role will enable the Quality team to better understand clinical workflows, improve provider engagement, and support quality outcomes by leveraging EPIC data assets and analytical tools to improve STARs ratings.
This person will be a highly motivated and independent self-starter who enjoys diving deeply into understanding data to find answers. They will support short and long term operational/strategic business activities by applying knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to initiative prototype development to improve the customer experience.

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
