Job summary

TalentFish seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and execution of advanced data science capabilities for a global food and ingredient organization.

You will design and scale a Google Cloud data lakehouse and analytical framework, translate complex formulation data into actionable insights, and mentor other data scientists while delivering measurable business value.

Hybrid, Bridgewater, NJ based role reporting to the Director of Digital Innovation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in predictive modeling and advanced analytics.
• Ability to set a long-term technical vision and implement it in production.
• Delivery of major data science initiatives with measurable value.
• Translate questions into analytical approaches using available data.
• Design or scale enterprise data frameworks or data lakehouses.
• Deploy production-grade machine learning pipelines.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Knowledge of Bayesian inference and advanced modeling.
• Experience in cloud-based data environments.
• Bachelor's or higher in a quantitative field.
• Principal-level leadership with strategic influence.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable data framework for innovation needs.
• Architect and scale a Google Cloud data lakehouse and analytical layer.
• Develop data capabilities for ingredient selection and predictive formulation.
• Partner with engineering to build scalable ML pipelines.
• Develop, validate, deploy, and improve ML models in production.
• Apply Bayesian and other advanced modeling to business challenges.
• Translate business questions into data-driven analytical problems.
• Prioritize high-value data science use cases with leadership.
• Demonstrate measurable business value from data initiatives.
• Set long-term technical vision for predictive modeling and analytics.
• Mentor data scientists and promote technical excellence.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Balance opportunities and focus on measurable outcomes.
