The Team

The Core Intelligence team is part of the AI Org, which is GEICO’s strategic investment with the mission to transform GEICO into an AI-first company. The AI org is led by the Vice President, Head of AI. It is part of the Technology, Product, and AI (TPA) organization at GEICO, led by the Chief Technology, Product, and AI Officer, who reports to the CEO.

The Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced
Data Scientist with strong product sense and operational experience to lead AI applications for GEICO’s business needs. The candidate should build close partnerships with product and engineering leadership across the company. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Machine Learning and Data Science.

Responsibilities

To be successful, you will need:

• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with data-driven product development cycles for ML and LLM.
• Mastery of data science and machine learning concepts and their applications in various business contexts. Familiarity with large language model technologies is preferred.
• Be the go-to expert in the company to facilitate AI product development via disciplined data science practices.
• Guide cross-functional teams to drive business impact through exploratory research, experiment design, launch analysis, and industry projections.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in DS/ML and share knowledge with the organization.
• Provide data science and product advice to the Head of AI and Chief AI Officer regarding AI applications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degrees preferred.
• Deep understanding of DS and ML.
• Extensive experience in industry-scale AI product development cycles.
• Experience mentoring junior data scientists.
• 8+ years of leadership experience preferred.
