Job summary

CI&T in the United States is seeking a hands-on Principal Data Architect to own the target architecture for a large-scale data platform modernization for a major US mortgage lender. You will design end-to-end data pipelines, lakehouse landing, and a governed cloud data warehouse on Snowflake, with Fabric/OneLake integration and CDC-based replication.

Qualifications

• Solid experience leading enterprise data platform modernization programs.
• Proven track record architecting cloud data platforms on Snowflake with layered models.
• Experience with Fabric/OneLake or comparable lakehouse platforms.
• Experience with CDC-based replication pipelines.
• Designing governed BI semantic layers (Power BI or equivalent).
• Strong data governance skills: classification, masking, lineage, and row-level access.
• Fluent English with client-facing engagement.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end target architecture for CDC replication, lakehouse landing, and layered data warehouse on Snowflake.
• Maintain architecture decision records covering transformation, CDC, semantic-model storage, and interoperability.
• Design the curated data layer and dimensional model for reporting attributes.
• Lead the development of a single certified BI semantic model for downstream tools.
• Collaborate hands-on with the codebase and development team through design-and-build.
• Lead discovery with client architecture, security, and platform teams; resolve interoperability questions.
• Own quality gates for architecture decisions and sign-off with stakeholders.
• Mentor the team on transformation patterns and data-quality design.
