Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC seeks a Principal Microsoft Data & AI Engineer for a long-term contract in Minneapolis, MN (hybrid, 18 months). The role requires deep SQL, data modeling, and AI tooling experience to design scalable data pipelines and enterprise models.

You will implement ETL/ELT processes, govern data quality, and collaborate with leadership to deliver analytics-ready assets leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering, analytics, or related fields.
• Advanced SQL Server and complex SQL development experience.
• Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline design and implementation.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platform knowledge.
• Proficient data modeling across relational, dimensional, and semantic layers.
• Experience with enterprise data integration from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy scalable data ingestion/ transformation pipelines.
• Develop reusable ETL/ELT processes moving data to governed stores and models.
• Write and optimize complex SQL and data transformations.
• Model enterprise data for Power BI, Excel, and AI workflows.
• Lead data governance and quality efforts, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on engineering data solutions.
