Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the design and operation of core security platforms across network, cloud, application, AI, SaaS and hybrid environments. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic influence to advance secure, scalable, and compliant security capabilities.

The successful candidate willPartner with security, infrastructure, cloud, and enterprise technology teams to drive modernization, automation, and enhanced visibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, or related roles.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale security architecture.
• Deep expertise across network, cloud, application, SaaS, and hybrid security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, engineering, implementation, and optimization of core security platforms.
• Develop and advance Zero Trust models with identity-based access controls.
• Drive secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles across environments.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional security transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture and governance on AI/generative AI security.
