Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support the CISO organization by assessing internal computing environments for cybersecurity compliance. You will perform security control assessments, develop guidance, and contribute to readiness for third-party assessments across DFARS/NIST frameworks.

The role requires DoD security clearance eligibility, experience with NIST 800-171/800-53, and a strong background in cybersecurity engineering and risk

Qualifications

• Experience with assessment methodologies for security controls.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171/800-53 and related standards.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and GRC practices.
• Experience performing security control assessments across internal environments.
• Scripting with Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Understand DoD DFARS 252.204-7012/7021 and CUI protection requirements.
• Conduct security control assessments using recognized standards.
• Develop documentation and artifacts for NIST SP 800-171 readiness.
• Collaborate with the CISO assessment team to identify gaps and trends.
• Domestic travel up to 25%.
