We are the NCIA, a team of 3000 civilian and military staff in 29 locations throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Our technology and cyber experts allow NATO to conduct critical operations, protect NATO's airspace, make data‑driven decisions, defend against cyber‑attacks, secure NATO networks and maintain superiority in space. This is all possible because of our greatest force, our people. In order to keep this edge we aim to hire, train and retain the very best staff.

Our staff members represent both the diversity and unity of our Alliance. When you join the NCIA, you will be part of an organization where you can contribute authentically to the mission and purpose of NATO and help us keep our technological edge.

  • Lead the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas;
  • Lead the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available;
  • Provide advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards;
  • Plan and drive scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives.

  • Hold, or have recently held, a nationally recognised qualification in CIS Leadership/Management;
  • Remarkable l IT experience, including at least 5+ years in a senior leadership or deputy role managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams;
  • Proven track record overseeing large‑scale IaaS, PaaS, and NaaS environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or private enterprise clouds);
  • Experience managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), hardware security modules (HSMs), cryptographic key lifecycles, and data‑at‑rest/in‑transit encryption standards;
  • Experience managing extensive financial resources, and strictly enforcing vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
