Job description

Principal Controls Engineer (Sr. Advisor)

As the Principal Controls Engineer for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal, and Hydrogen) North America you will be a key developer in a cross-functional development group. Within ENGIE's dynamic environment, you will be expected to design, implement and test control algorithms for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Every day, you will provide input on controls, simulation and modeling development in a wide range of software development activities and occasionally be the sole development resource on a project.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Control Systems, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in developing controls systems
  • Expertise in developing controls code using CodeSys, MATLAB/Simulink or other PLC Programming platforms
  • Experience developing or working with Human Machine Interface development software such as Ignition, PanelView etc.
  • Strong understanding of network communication architectures, telemetry, and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, MQTT etc.)
  • Knowledge of Software in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing paradigms
  • Experience with software development lifecycle tools and version control using GIT
  • Prior experience leading controls development projects from development to deployment
  • Knowledge of distributed power generation technology such as Wind, solar, fuel cells, battery storage preferred
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Occasional Travel may be required

Compensation

Salary Range: $158,130 - $313,750 USD annually

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
