Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Principal Contracts Specialist with extensive experience in federal contracting, particularly in the areas of acquisition policy and regulatory compliance. This senior-level role will play a critical part in advising on and managing complex contracts in support of U.S. federal agencies, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency-specific supplements, and demonstrated expertise in contract policy development and interpretation. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal contracting policies, acquisition regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on acquisition planning, contract formation, and execution for federal government clients.
  • Develop, review, and interpret contracting policies, procedures, and templates in alignment with FAR and agency supplements (e.g., DFARS, HHSAR, etc.).
  • Support policy analysis, drafting, and implementation efforts for federal agency clients.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of a wide range of government contracts, including IDIQs, BPAs, task orders, and firm-fixed-price contracts.
  • Conduct internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contracting laws and internal policies.
  • Lead or participate in acquisition strategy meetings, policy working groups, and contract review boards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior contract staff.
  • Interface regularly with government Contracting Officers (COs), Program Managers, and legal advisors.
  • Support proposal efforts by reviewing terms and conditions and advising on risk mitigation strategies.
