Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) seeks a contracts professional to interface with external customers and internal partners, performing proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and administration. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of contracts experience (or Master’s with 3 years), knowledge of FAR/DFARS, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Government DoD Secret clearance. Travel up to 10% may be required; a DoD clearance is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant professional contracts experience; OR Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant professional contracts experience.
  • Will consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with external customers and internal business partners, conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration.
  • Examine proposal requirements and estimates, prepare bids, analyze terms and conditions to evaluate risk, accuracy, and completeness to provide proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Process contractual documentation and reports, advise management of contractual rights and obligations, compile and analyze data, and maintain historical information.
  • Facilitate proper shipment, billing, and payment collection for deliveries, interfacing with DCMA or customer as required via Wide Area Workflow (WAWF).
  • Make decisions in a timely manner under tight deadlines and pressure.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant professional contracts experience
Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant professional contracts experience

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

The position requires a basic understanding of DoD Contracting, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player, proactive, possess good analytical skills, demonstrate problem‑solving skills, and be detail‑oriented.
