Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Principal Contract Administrator in Rolling Meadows, IL to support proposal preparation, negotiation, and contract administration for MSTS. You will interact with customers and internal teams to ensure contract compliance, deliverables, and accurate data in management systems.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of contract experience or a Master’s with 3 years, plus familiarity with FAR/DFARS and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of contracts administration/management or a related field; OR Master’s with 3 years.
  • Experience using MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience with FAR/DFARS and/or commercial clauses.
  • Experience leading teams, including cross-functional/cross-organization teams.
  • Experience with US Government customers/contracts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contract activities.
  • Administer standard and nonstandard contracts through proposal preparation, negotiation, administration, and closeout.
  • Act as primary interface with customer for contractual issues and monitor contracts.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all contractual deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs) and submission of invoices.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Contract Administrator based out of Rolling Meadows, IL supporting the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) Division, Electronic Warfare Systems Operating Unit (OU).

What You’ll Get To Do

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contract activities to enable contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements.

The primary responsibilities include administration of standard and nonstandard contracts through proposal preparation, contract negotiation, administration, and closeout by interfacing with all levels of management and customer counterparts.

Responsibilities Include By Are Not Limited To
  • Act as a primary interface with customer for contractual issues; Monitor contract and associated program to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood.
  • Participate in contract proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage assigned contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Work under general supervision to develop solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure company compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, manage contract changes and maintain historical information.
  • Review terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification and all other potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist management in achieving financial goals related to cash management and sales.
  • Prepare and manage written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters.
  • Enter and maintain contract data into Contract Management System and/or Enterprise Accounting System
  • Ensure timely delivery of all contractual deliverables (including CDRLs/SDRLs) and submission of invoices.

The successful candidate will have strong problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.

Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in contracts administration/management or a related field (i.e. contracts-related legal); OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Will consider 9 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Experience using MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience using FAR/DFARS and/or commercial clauses.
  • Experience leading teams, including cross-functional/cross-organization teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with US Government customers/contracts.
  • Experience with international customers/contracts.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain OR current/active a US Government Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
