Principal Consultant - US (Energy Transition and Critical Minerals)

Role Overview

This position contributes to the growth of our global critical minerals consulting team and supports projects within our broader Energy Transition team. Responsibilities include providing analytical expertise, model development, managing workstreams, and delivering client-ready outputs. The role primarily focuses on critical minerals, with a good understanding of other energy topics, and involves building consulting capabilities and working closely with clients and team members to ensure quality and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage workstreams within larger projects under the project manager's guidance.
  • Assist in business development efforts such as proposals, scoping, and conferences.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality project outputs.
  • Conduct client interviews, workshops, and presentations.
  • Develop insights from data analysis and industry knowledge.
  • Review analysis and models created by team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
  • Work independently on consulting engagements.
Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of experience in industry, consulting, or finance.
  • Extensive metals & mining consulting or mining company experience, especially in strategy, finance, or operations.
  • Deep knowledge of the metals & mining market, including market dynamics, supply chains, and regulations.
  • Experience related to the energy sector, particularly in operations, energy efficiency, low-carbon energy, or sustainability.
  • Exposure to the energy value chain, including production, processing, distribution, and consumption.
  • Management consulting experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • BSc in a related field; post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong English communication skills; knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel (~20%).
  • Team-oriented with openness to ideas and feedback.
