Suvi an AKIMA company is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant – Financial Intelligence & Analytics to serve as a senior subject matter expert supporting complex financial crime investigations, data exploitation, and analytics-driven mission operations. This is a high-impact, non-managerial role for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of investigative depth, strategic influence, and technical excellence. The selected candidate will contribute to mission-critical investigative efforts—primarily in support of federal financial crimes programs—and help shape the development of Suvi’s broader capability in financial intelligence and advanced analytics. This includes mentorship of rising talent, advising on tool design and use, and representing the organization’s subject matter depth across clients and capture efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic financial analysis and investigative support across domains such as tax evasion, money laundering, asset tracing, and cryptocurrency-related crimes

  • Trace illicit flows of funds across traditional and digital platforms; reconstruct complex financial patterns and networks

  • Develop investigative reports, visual timelines, and data-driven summaries to support field agents and legal teams

  • Guide internal methodologies and contribute to capability development aligned with Suvi’s broader strategy in financial intelligence and investigative analytics

  • Mentor and advise early- and mid-career professionals, fostering tradecraft development and analytical excellence

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve investigative tooling and workflows, with a focus on usability, explainability, and mission effectiveness

  • Provide subject matter insight for white papers, solutioning efforts, and business development related to investigative and financial analysis domains

  • Stay current on regulatory frameworks, financial crime trends, and enforcement priorities to ensure forward-leaning and compliant execution

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship Required• Must be able to obtain and maintain Tier 5 Public Trust

  • 10+ years of experience in forensic accounting, financial investigations, or litigation support

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or collaborating with federal law enforcement or interagency task forces

  • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing AML, BSA, asset forfeiture, digital finance, and emerging risk

  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data sets, identify patterns and anomalies, and translate them into actionable insights

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create high-quality investigative artifacts and legal support documentation

  • Experience with tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Palantir, Chainalysis, or equivalent.

  • Must have the ability to be onsite as needed for meetings, collaboration sessions, or other in-person requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CFE, Cr.FA, J.D., or similar financial crime credential

  • Background supporting agencies such as IRS CI, DEA, FBI, or DHS HSI

  • Knowledge of blockchain analytics, privacy coin tracing, or decentralized finance (DeFi) investigations

  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in investigative environments with consideration for fairness, explainability, and model robustness

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or influence technical direction without requiring a formal management title
