Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Computer Systems Architect – Level 3/4 in Redondo Beach, CA to support daily operations and high‑bay floor requests. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and occasional travel for coordinating network onboarding.

The position offers relocation assistance, a standard 9/80 schedule, and opportunities to work with NetApp, VMware, AD, and Security Center in a secure government context.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and network security.
  • Experience with Windows 10, 11, and Windows Server, as well as RHEL 7–9 or other Linux distributions.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily requests from operations high bay floor.
  • Provide support for SV EGSE test sets and workstations, including connecting to the ATL network.
  • Manage user accounts and network share access across high bay locations.
  • Coordinate border crossing and onboarding of new EGSE test sets and hardware onto the ATL network.
  • Provide 24/7 on‑call support during critical test phases.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network and system issues.
  • Communicate technical information to non‑technical users and document processes.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10%) and support off‑site activities.

Clearance

Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Top Secret. TS/SCI Privilege User required with Poly within the last 5 years.

Travel

Travel: Yes, approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily requests from operations high bay floor.
  • Provide support for SV EGSE test sets and workstations, including connecting to the ATL network.
  • Manage user accounts and network share access across high bay locations.

Basic Qualifications (Level 3)
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and network security.
  • Experience with Windows 10, 11, and Windows Server, as well as RHEL 7–9 or other Linux distributions.
  • Proficient in managing network drive shares and access control.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and incident response fundamentals.
Basic Qualifications (Level 4)
  • Minimum 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • All qualifications listed under Level 3, with additional depth and breadth of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, and firewall management.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues on computers, workstations, and network switches.
  • Understanding of cable media (CAT6, fiber optic) and transceiver types.
  • Ability to build, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with NetApp storage appliances, VMware vSphere, Active Directory, and Security Center.

Primary Level: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00.

Secondary Level: $142,200.00 – $213,400.00.
