As a Principal Compliance Engineer, you will advise clients on integrating compliance into their technical operations, translating legal knowledge into engineering requirements to support mission success.

Requirements

Ability to extract applicable law and policy excerpts related to computer platforms and systems.
Convert legal and policy requirements into engineering terminology for compliance standards.
Understand emerging legal, compliance, and policy rulings affecting implementation choices.
Recognize when additional legal guidance is needed.
Prepare incident reports and legal/policy review requests.
Draft compliance-related technical recommendations.
Contribute to systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
Assist in early design phases to ensure compliance outcomes.

Desired Skills/Experience

Extensive knowledge of U.S. government privacy laws, especially related to DoD and IC.
Understanding of roles and authorities within the IC.
Minimum 15 years of legal, compliance, or related experience.
At least 5 years of experience in the IC in legal, policy, compliance, or privacy roles.
Experience interpreting the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
Knowledge of federal, state, and foreign data privacy laws.
Strong communication skills, with experience in stakeholder presentations.
