Fuel Talent LLC in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Cloud Platform to lead the architecture and development of our cloud infrastructure powering a fleet of edge devices. This highly technical leadership role focuses on designing scalable, secure, cloud-native systems that transform telemetry into actionable insights while enabling reliable device management.

Qualifications

Extensive experience designing and building cloud-native platforms on AWS.
Experience with AWS IoT Core, Kinesis, Lambda, and Timestream.
Strong background in distributed systems processing high-volume telemetry.
Experience with secure cloud platforms including authentication, authorization, encryption, and IAM.
Proven experience leading technical architecture for complex backend systems.
Experience partnering with hardware, embedded, or edge teams.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and development of cloud services for distributed edge devices.
Design scalable data ingestion pipelines for high-throughput telemetry.
Build resilient distributed systems with low-latency device management.
Define secure authentication, authorization, and encryption for device-to-cloud communication.
Research, prototype, and implement new cloud technologies to improve scalability and reliability.
Collaborate with edge software and embedded teams to define APIs and data contracts.
Mentor engineers and promote best practices around architecture and software quality.
Drive technical direction balancing long-term platform strategy with rapid product execution.
