About the Role:
Back in 2018, there were 18 Engineers and now there are more than 350 people in Romania. Our engineers are working remotely from Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj, Timisoara, Brasov, Craiova...
We're a remote-friendly company and the role is open to all candidates in Romania, full-time remote all the time.
Falcon is the CrowdStrike platform purpose-built to stop breaches via a unified set of cloud-delivered technologies that prevent all types of attacks — including malware and much more.
CrowdStrike stores more than 15 petabytes of data in the cloud that it uses to make decisions about upward of 1 trillion security events a day.
As part of the Cloud Engineering Platform Data organization you will build globally distributed, fault-tolerant and highly-scalable cloud-based systems using microservices architecture. You will lay the foundation that will enable CrowdStrike to continue pushing the state of the art for security services. Many other teams will be leveraging the core pieces of infrastructure you help build to further enhance security products and make cyberspace a safer place.
You would be part of a team which is building a Global Query Engineecosystem , a set of components that will enable internal and external partners to access and join data from multiple underlying stores. The technology is built in-house and powered by Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Kubernetes and Go.

Be part of engineering efforts turning rapid prototypes into large-scale core services.
Leverage and build cloud based services to support our top rated security intelligence platform.
Keep petabytes of critical business data safe, secure, and available.
Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.
Obsess about learning, and champion the newest technologies & tricks with others, raising the technical IQ of the team.
Be mentored and mentor other developers on backend and data storage technologies.
Constantly re-evaluate our product to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance and stability.
Be an energetic “self-starter” with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.
Use and give back to the open source community.

What You’ll Need :
Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems).
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in developing distributed systems.
Deep understanding of:
web services / APIs and experience with integrating disparate systems.
multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies.
distributed systems and scalability challenges.
Team player skills - collaboration is key to building the best solutions.
The ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment.
The skills to meet your commitments on time and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
Mentorship abilities - help individuals develop their abilities.
Strategic thinking and providing direction at organizational level, i.e. beyond just the scope of the team.

Experience with complex GraphQL APIs and SQL-like languages.
