Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Data Engineer Principal to turn data into measurable outcomes for CMS challenges. You’ll design scalable data solutions, lead development, and drive data quality improvements while collaborating with analysts and stakeholders.

You will work on data pipelines, data governance, and automation in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes leadership, architecture guidance, and delivering high-impact results in healthcare data programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• 8+ years hands-on data engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python, shell scripting, SQL, and JavaScript.
• Experience building decoupled, scalable data pipelines.
• Strong data warehouse skills; Snowflake preferred.
• Hands-on CI/CD in development to production.
• Git-based repositories and AWS deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and document scalable data solutions for new and existing systems.
• Conduct unit and integration testing to meet requirements.
• Provide expert guidance on architecture, planning, and cost estimation.
• Lead initiatives, drive development, and meet milestones.
• Partner with end-user analysts to define Data Warehouse requirements.
• Collaborate with business analysts to validate test plans and quality.
• Drive data quality improvements and automate workflows.
