Job summary

Waters Corporation, a global leader in analytical instruments, is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to join its Global Software Engineering team. You will design and implement cloud architectures that enable scalable, compliant, and secure software for life, materials, food, and environmental sciences.

The role requires deep expertise in AWS, DevSecOps, and modern architecture patterns, with hands-on experience in Terraform, C#, .NET Core, Angular, and data technologies.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification or equivalent.
• Experience with AWS architectures and security.
• Familiarity with TOGAF 9 or ISO 42010.
• Domain knowledge of LC/LCMS applications.

Responsibilities

• Create and document architectural designs following input from stakeholders.
• Architect solutions that comply with industry-specific regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2).
• Act as architectural design authority and enforce adherence to high level design and implementation best practices.
• Establish best practices for AWS architectures, security, and DevSecOps.
• Codify use of hexagonal architecture in development practice.
• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
• Drive adherence to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategy.
• Socialize the architecture, train team members, and update stakeholders on key architecture changes.
• Act as a consultant to teams involved in implementing architectural designs.
• Produce proofs of concept in high-risk areas to de-risk architecture.
• Resolve challenges in complex technical issues.
• Seek out and provide guidance on improving engineering practices and technologies.
• Mentor others on architectural concepts and infrastructure.

• Experience with Angular 16+, Typescript, Javascript, HTML5

• Domain knowledge of LC/LCMS applications
• Knowledge and experience with application servers, n-tier applications, database management systems and open-source trends
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Big Data technologies
