Role description

The Engineering Team at Arcadis is expanding, and the company has a new career opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer - Land Development Projects (Commercial) for our Salt Lake City office.

We are seeking a well-experienced Civil Engineer with a PE license who is comfortable managing and leading a team focused on expanding our civil commercial development project footprint within Utah. The ideal candidate will oversee large, complex land development projects such as hospitals, airports, residential neighborhoods, shopping complexes, and educational campuses.

Role accountabilities:

1. Develop and grow the civil engineering practice based in the Salt Lake Utah Region, working with current and new clients through effective business development activities.
2. Develop and manage a team that builds positive relationships to facilitate new project opportunities and deliver outstanding projects.
3. Provide smart and effective project management to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations for quality and Arcadis’s commercial objectives.
4. Engage directly with clients, design staff, and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and project approvals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed PE Civil Engineer with over 12 years of experience delivering civil site development projects and managing complex budgets in the Salt Lake City region or Utah.
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients and experience in business development activities.
• Ability to create a positive work environment that fosters team excellence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
