Position: Full-time Principal Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer, Principal will lead a team of engineers and designers across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with project-specific design concepts and parameters. This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions with minimal supervision. The role also involves providing front-line supervision of the team and stepping in for the Civil/Structural Department Manager as needed, supporting departmental operations and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills:
  • Subject matter expertise in project proposals, execution, and procedures, including understanding of zoning, wetlands, and agency requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects in engineering, procurement, and construction styles.
  • Technical breadth and depth in civil engineering, with effective communication of complex solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam.
Additional Skills:
  • Oversee civil engineering designs, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.
  • Responsible for proposals, scope of work, planning, and staffing across sectors.
  • Supervise engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Provide technical guidance for division projects.
  • Monitor design work for correctness, consistency, and constructibility.
  • Assist in strategic planning and operational decisions as needed.
Qualifications:
  • ABET BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 12+ years of civil engineering experience, including 5+ years in the power industry.
  • NCEES accreditation preferred.
  • PE and/or SE licensure required.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $136,400 - $204,600, based on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending, paid maternity and parental leave, and more.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Must be able to perform tasks such as visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, kneeling, manual dexterity, climbing, hearing, talking, reasoning, reading and writing complex documents, and working at the office or site.
