Job summary

HappyGlobal Service seeks a Principal Structural & CAE Durability Engineer to lead structural integrity, fatigue, and durability analysis for battery module and pack systems supporting next-generation EV programs. This senior role owns the CAE strategy, methods, and automation roadmap, mentoring engineers and partnering with DREs and cross-functional teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

PhD or MS in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related field.
15+ years in structural, fatigue and durability CAE analysis (automotive/battery preferred).
Expert-level proficiency with ABAQUS, HyperWorks/OptiStruct, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA, ANSA, and nCode.

Responsibilities

Lead CAE analysis for battery module and pack designs (structural, fatigue, durability, NVH).
Define and drive CAE analysis strategy, methods, and roadmap across programs.
Develop automation tools and standard work processes to improve CAE quality and efficiency.
Apply optimization, DOE, and AI/ML techniques to guide design decisions.
Collaborate with DREs and cross-functional teams to meet performance and reliability targets.
Review and validate FEA models, calculations, and reports for components (trays, tabs, BDU, ICB, etc.).
Lead root cause investigations of structural failures and field issues; support corrective actions.
Evaluate and implement CAE software/platforms (ABAQUS, HyperWorks, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA, ANSA, nCode) to support needs.
Mentor and provide technical leadership to CAE engineers; present results to leadership.
Support standards, design practices, and simulation methodology improvements.
